NIS 2009 was already installed.
Later (several days), I started the installation of Ghost 14.0. Ghost worked fine and I was able to run backup job. The backup job finished fine but later on the process of installation apparently goes into never-ending loop, i.e. following are symptoms what I can see:
1. No Ghost icon in the system tray
2. Ghost CD in the CD drive spins from time to time with no messages on my PC desktop. apparently, something is happening behind the seens.
3. From time to time command prompt windows show up (flash for a second or so) and you cannot read anything what it says before it disappears.
4. when I proceed to uninstall/remove Ghost from the control panel, a message comes up telling me that another instance of installation is running and does not allow me to do anything.
Now, here is the "goofy" thing
1. If I remembered correctly, I installed Ghost 14.0 using one account, Say "A", which worked fine (backup job finished) so I thought! Don't remember if the icon appeared in the sys tray at that time.
2. When I logged in another account, say "B", the installation "goofyness" mentioned above (points 1-4) appeared.
3. Logged off from "B" and logged in "A" and the installation "goofyness" mentioned above (points 1-4) appeared here as well.
Not sure, what to do. Ideally, I would not like to go through uninstall/install ordeal if there is an easy fix.
Uninstall/install type of fix/troubleshooting indicates BAD software to me.
This has costed me several hours already over a course of several days.
