For years I used Norton Ghost to clone hard drives from the boot CD, but it's apparent that this feature is not available in Ghost 14. This doesn't really make any sense since the central motivation for buying Ghost in the first place is often to clone a hard disk. I understand some people are more interested in the backup/restore capabilities of Ghost 14, but I can't understand why the boot CD cloning feature was removed, as it was incredibly useful.
I am aware that the cloning feature is available in the Enterprise version (Ghost Solution Suite 2.5), but the minimum cost is 5 licenses at $40 each, or $200, which seems like a hefty price tag for some cloning software. Unfortunately, for these reasons, my company has decided to scrap its intention to buy Ghost 14 and will be using free, open-source disk cloning software instead.
