Ghost 14 - Connect Status bar hangs when launching application

Hi,

 

I am using Ghost 14 with Vista Home premium SP1, and backing up to a Freecom external HDD via USB.

 

After a period of problem-free use, I now have a glitch when opening the app.

 

The Status screen opens as usual, but the progress bar for "Connecting and Retrieving Information from the Back-Up and Recovery Service on Paul-PC" makes very slow progress, and then hangs with 5% remaining.

 

When I click Cancel, the Service Connection screen opens, and states that "This programme in unable to connect and communicate with the Norton Ghost Back-up service on Paul-PC.

 

Any advice gratefully received
