I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit. When I try to let Ghost 14 copy an Image file to DVD, I get the following error -
-Cannot copy image file.
--Errors exist.
---There is not enough space.
----Error EBAB0013: A test that safeguards the integrity of the program failed unexpectedly. CHECK failed, Can::EjectMedia: .\Can.cpp(555): !m_cdvdIface
It burns the first DVD to capacity and then I get the error. It seems the spanning feature is not working based on the error message above and first DVD burned full. This error started AFTER running LiveUpdate for Ghost. I had no problems BEFORE running LiveUpdate other than the nuisance message that there are known compatibility issues with Ghost 14 (I have found none other than cosmetic stuff listed below). The compatibility issues message went away after LiveUpdate. For now I will revert back to the un-LiveUpdated version of Ghost which copies to DVD OK and verifies DVD image integrity.
The un-LiveUpdated Ghost 14 from my installation CD performs the following operations correctly with Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit - (1) Create OS Backup to external drive, (2) Create OS Backup to DVD, (3) Copy OS Backup Image from external drive to DVD and (4) Restore OS to hard drive from Recovery Environment (boot from Ghost 14 CD). Windows File Protection (scf /scannow) finds no problems with the Image restored from Recovery Environment.
The following issues I’ve found with the un-LiveUpdated Ghost 14 are cosmetic and only take place after restoring the hard drive from Recovery Environment – (1) NIS 2009 requires LiveUpdate to download the full suite of virus definitions, (2) Windows Update must be re-configured to check for other products like Office, (3) Windows System Restore are lost and (4) Windows hard drive error checking tool will not run until after updating NIS 2009 virus definitions.
It would be interesting to see if Ghost 15 has the same issues.
Any suggestions are welcome for fixing the Ghost 14 LiveUpdate version including a LiveUpdate fix from Symantec.
