Apologies if this has already been answered but I have looked around the forum and cannot find an answer to the issue I have.
I have a Desktop with Norton Ghost 14 installed and two laptops, all with Vista Home Premium Sp2 installed and working on a wireless network. All have both file and printer sharing enabled.
Ghost is working fine on the desktop (far better than Acronis True Image Home was) and I would like to backup each of the laptops onto the desktop for safekeeping. In order to do this I need to manually install the Ghost Agent on each of the two laptops. The two issues I immediatly face are:
1. The PDF manual appears to be for XP, not Vista. The instructions for deploying the Agent appear to differ for Vista.
2. I need the Ghost 14 install CD, having purchased the program directly from Norton I've downloaded the software (and the ISO Boot Disk) from the Norton site, I do not have the install CD.
I have tried to install Ghost on one of the laptops to see if that will also install the Agent, it does not appear to work.
On the Desktop PC, Ghost allows me to add the Laptops, asks for the login name and password, but when I try to connect I get the error; "This program is unable to connect and communicate with the Norton Ghost backup service on LAPTOP". I have tried connecting using both the IP addresses and laptop names.
Any advice or help would be welcome.
