I had a weird problem with my external usb disk drive K:, that resulted in windows event ids 50, 26 and 57 (I/O errors). This drive was my default backup destination. I was unable to access the drive at that point, so I rebooted. When the system came back up, windows decided, for whatever reason, to change the drive letter from K to J.
Ghost noticed this presented a pop-up window asking if I wanted to use J: as the backup destination.... I hadn't realized yet that windows had renamed the drive to J, and maybe mistakenly, I replied NO.
I ran chkdsk against J: and some minor problems with ntfs security descriptors were reported and fixed. None of the files stored on the drive needed repair or recovery. Looking at the contents of the drive, all of my recovery points and File-Folder backups are still there.
At this point I realized that Ghost couldn't locate any of my previous backups. From the Tasks item, Options, I corrected the default backup destination. Within "Run or Manage Backups", all jobs were missing the backup destination. I edited them, seeming correctly (it now shows the correct alias and J:), but: "Manage Backup Destinations" still does not list any recovery points (note they are still in the same location as they were before, just the drive letter changed).
If I go to the Advanced tab and select Backup History, all of the recovery points show as "Available" (they are there of course)
Any ideas as to how to get "Manage Backup Destinations" to properly recognize them?
Thanks in advance
