Had you previously installed any other versions of Ghost on this system? Drive Image? Also, any details about the operating system and system setup (disks, partitions, RAID, etc.) would be helpful. Thanks!
Tony,
Thank you for your response. The problem was cause by a transfer from a Windows 98 machine. The Desktop is located different than on XP. I actually had two desktops. The other problem of items no showing in the Recovery Point has not occured again.
Thanks again.
Jim
I backed up the entire computer with Norton Ghost 14. Everything seemed to be fine, but on exploring the recovery points I found the Desktop file is seven months old. This is three months before I installed Ghost. I haven't found any other files outdated, but I am not confident with using this to restore my computer. Luckily I still have Drive Image 2002, but it is limited to 2G memory and I must use it on a partition.
Thanks in advance for some help.
I wanted to add some more information since I haven't gotten any help yet. I ran another complete image of the C hard drive. The Desktop is still from Feburary and now the Documents and Settings folder is blank when I view this Recovery Point.. Does anyone know where Ghost is getting the information for the image. Is there a cache somewhere that it is accessing. My temp files are clean.
Thanks,
Jim
