Ghost 15 Exclamation mark on one drive

I'm showing an exclamation mark on my G: Drive. I believe it is there because Ghost has marked it a a backup drive and has low free space available.

My question is how can I disassociate my G: Drive with it being a backup destination? I hope my question is clear enough.

Thank you.

Thank you DaveH for your reply.

Yes I could "click "Advanced" on the main screen" and hide the problem but that would effectively stop any warnings for that drive.

I would have thought that there would be a way of stopping a particular drive being referenced as a back-up drive.

The included screen shot shows two locations as backup destinations E: & G: I'm trying to remove any reference to G:

Thank you.

As long as there are no scheduled backups to be targeted...

Stop the Norton Ghost service.

Delete the hidden VProRecovery folder and it's contents.

Restart the Norton Ghost service or reboot.

Does the drive still show as a destination?

Can you right click and ignore now?

Peanut gallery here,

I get that type of an indication when a USB drive has not been properly identified and integrated into the system. A stop/start on the drive usually solves the problem.

For what it's worth :smileywink:

Dickevans, Thank you for your input however the drive is internal & if I disconnect all USB drives, the problem remains.

Cheers

Hi redk9258.

"Stop the Norton Ghost service.Delete the hidden VProRecovery folder and it's contents.Restart the Norton Ghost service or reboot" - OK done

"Does the drive still show as a destination?" - Unfortunately yes

"Can you right click and ignore now?" - To overcome the exclamation mark problem I transferred sufficient files to another drive but of course it is now showing clearly as one of two Backup Destination Drive as per the screen shot.

How do I stop G: drive being referred to as a backup destination? (I can change the drive letter which seems to work but would prefer not to do it that way).

Would starting fresh by reinstalling the Program help?

You may have to delete the history files. This will cause Ghost to stop showing your backups in the GUI though...

You should just try History folder first. If that doesn't work then do the Schedule too.

Wait a minute. Is there still a backup job defined with that destination? If so delete it first.

Hi redk9258,

No, deleting those didn't work either so I have taken the lazy option and totally uninstalled & reinstalled the program and all is OK
