I upgraded from Windows Vista Business x64 to Windows 7 Enterprise x64. The upgrade went without apparent problems. However, after the upgrade Norton Ghost 15 was gone! The entire C:\Program Files (x86)\Norton Ghost directory and all of its contents are no longer on the system. Norton Ghost is still listed in the Control Center | Programs list for uninstall, the configuration information is still in ...\AppData\Roaming\Symantec\Norton Ghost, the registry entries are there, the image files are there, ..., just no program files!
I'm wondering what is the best course of action to get Ghost back. I can think of 3 possibilities.
1) Use the SRD to recover the missing directory from the pre-upgrade backup.
2) Directly reinstall. (Might be easiest if it will work.)
3) Uninstall and then reinstall. (But can I uninstall without the program directory?)
4) Contact Symantec Customer Service. (I may do that tomorrow when I have lots of time but I prefer to do it myself when I can.)
Thanks for any suggestions.
