Ghost 15: Incremental backup larger than the base

I did a base (full) backup of my C: drive, and want to do the first incremental recovery point backup.

I was surprised to see that the size of the incremental recovery point backup is larger than the original backup.

Original: 11GB

Incremental: 16GB

I'm under the impression that an incremental backup only backs up the difference between the original/last backup and current state.

Did you defrag in between the base and that incremental?

We recommend you defrag before the base image.  The mechanism used to track changes is at a sector level and can't tell the difference between a file change or a change caused by the defrag.

Ah yes. I disabled defragging for the C Drive, gave Ghost another spin and it is fine now.
