Hi,
The problem with lights-out in Ghost 15 come when it installs and updates the files on the system disk and does nothing to my Data disk. So, I never get the choice of Ghost Lights out as a startup option when I reboot my Laptop.
This is because of the wonderful hardware constraints in this HP Laptop DV9225us which are absolute:
1. Only Drive Bay #1 can be used for Booting. No OS will boot from Drive bay #2 period.
2. The new 500 GB drive only works in drive bay #1.
3. The old 160 GB drive can work in any drive bay.
What that in mind. My current configuration is as follows:
1. Drive Bay # 1 Has my Data Disk
2. Drive Bay # 2 Has My System Disk
And yes, I said no drive would boot from Bay # 2. And it doesn't even though it still has a copy of the \boot folder and files. No I boot off of the Data Drive which also has a copy of \boot and all of the files and then I switch during the boot to the System drive in bay #2.
This type of installation is and has been supported by every Microsoft OS Installer since XP Professional. Any of those OS’s have no problems with installing to a machine with this configuration and setting up the boot system correctly.
Ghost 15 is just not smart enough to update the correct boot files. On d:\boot instead of c:\boot
This was reported in Norton Case # XXXXXXXX
Thanks,
