History - Dell E5250 laptops. Boot to Ghost CD and install the image. (after first booting into Windows setup and blowing away all the partitions and creating one single partition). Ocasionally, when I'd boot to the Ghost CD, it would boot, but none of the commands could be run. Rebooting to the CD a second time corrected the issue.
We got slightly newer laptop models in now. Dell E5270's. Well, with these I couldn't even boot to the Windows 7 DVD. I had to create a boot DVD (and subsequently a bootable USB flash drive) with the USB 3.0 files injected into it. That worked. I was able to boot into Windows setup and blow away the multiple partitions and create with basic partitioning needed for my ghost image.
However, when I went to boot the Ghost CD, it would boot, but as with the older model of Dell (the E5250's), the CD would boot but no commands were available. No list of commands displayed at bootup and none were available to run. No number of reboots would correct this, nor would the creation of a Ghost boot USB flash drive. I could not simply "inject" the USB 3.0 files into this image though...since it was not a Windows image.
So I have NO IDEA how I can get this Ghost CD to boot where I can actually run the commands. What am I missing? It HAS to be something simple......but I have no idea what to try next.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,
Warner
