That is precisely what Ghost is for… check around and you’ll see lots of posts about this.
It would be best to ensure that your current drive has no bad sectors before you begin. Suggest you use chkdsk /r. If your partitions are clean then Ghost should work. There is a post marked “Advisory…” (sorry cant remember the full title - but search in this forum.
There are 2 options in Norton Ghost to serve your purpose.
- Create a backup image of your old hard drive and restore it to the new hard drive after replacing the drive.
- Perform Copy drive to create an exact copy of your hard drive to the new drive and then replace the drive.
If the storage space on your new drive does not match with your old drive and if your old drive contains some disk errors or bad sectors, I would suggest you to go for first option instead of second option.
