Gmail started loading very slow, as soon as I installed Norton Security on Windows 10 64 bit, just a few day ago, never had this issue before. This occurs every time on all the devices I have installed Norton on. This also occurs on my wife's gmail account. Not account specific, it is NORTON specific.
Yes I specifically followed Kaspersky's directions, including a Re-boot after uninstall. If you noticed the other comments in the thread, this is not a isolated incident. Many have seen this issue and most have suggested changing my browser away from Chrome, to addresses the issue. That is just sad.
Do you work for Norton? And if so, is there a way to get better help?
Prior to Norton I had Kaspersky and gmail loading was fast,
Did you fully remove Kaspersky using the removal utility for Kaspersky before installing Norton? https://support.kaspersky.com/common/service.aspx?el=1464
The problem is something in the interaction between Norton Security (v 22.11.2.7) and Google Chrome (v 62) for gmail (mail.google.com). I never experienced delays when loading gmail in Google Chrome in the years I used Kaspersky or Avast, so this is something due to Norton.
I switched to Edge (v 40) for reading email on my Win10 machines with Norton, and gmail loads without delay. It's not ideal that I have to change apps due to limitations of security software, but it works.
Are you suggesting I change my browser from Google Chrome (as in Google email/gmail) to Fire Fox to fix a "Norton" issue?
Didn’t have it today. Gmail works fine in FF 57, x64.
Same here, loaded Norton Security on two Windows 10 (one Pro, one Home) 64-bit machines and gmail loading slowed to a crawl. Prior to Norton I had Kaspersky and gmail loading was fast, even though I had ~1500 emails in my inbox and probably that same number saved in various email folders. I deleted ~1200 emails from my inbox, loading is still very slow. Could the Norton software be so dumb as to scan *all* emails in all folders each time it loads?
