Over the past week there has been a lot of buzz online about google enabling third party extensions by default in its developer channel (versions 3.x and 4.x) versions of Google Chrome. There is even a rumor that Google might have third party extensions enabled in the full non-beta release of chrome 3.
I was wondering, has norton at least begun talks with google about the possibility of having the norton products fully support chrome? Or is norton planning on waiting until chrome establishes a more significant user base (i.e. 10% market share)? At the rate google is making new builds of chrome I wouldn't be surprised if version 4 is fully released by the third or fourth quarter of 2010.
I only bring this up now because I recall reading that one of norton's biggest road blocks in supporting more web browsers is that many do not want third party extensions and toolbars.
