Green circle with check just appeared

On my last reboot of my WIN 7 Pro I noticed small green circles with a white check on several Taskbar icons, including Norton Security. What does this mean and how do I delete them?

The icon next to Norton is the safely remove hardware icon. It has the same green circle check as Norton.

I just noticed one on my Windows Server Connect icon on my Win 10 laptop. I did not look before, because the icon was green and the new checkmark blended in.

The checkmark on the Norton icon indicates that it is working correctly with no issues, and the similar checkmark on the Windows Security icon lets you know that all security-related processes and programs in Windows are functioning properly.  Please identify any other icons you are seeing.
