Have to set up browser with phone EVERY day on same computer

I am at a loss here. Every day I am having to set up password manager on my computer with my phone. I have gone years without issue till recently. Every time I am having to scan the qr code to verify the SAME browser. I’m not even getting the option to input my password to open on the computer. Any ideas? I have tried uninstalling the extension and reinstalling. Didn’t help. Browser is Firefox.

Did you change phones around when this started?

I suggest logging into the Norton Password Manager, NPM, vault and remove your phone from the Passwordless unlock. Then uninstall NPM from your mobile device and restart it. Then reinstall the NPM app on your mobile and set up Passwordless Unlock again and test.

I have not changed phones and it still works as it should on my other computer. What is so frustrating with this is that I can not even log into password manager with my vault password. It forces me to redo the setup with my phone. If I follow your suggestion, will I need to do the exact same thing on my other computer as well? I’m thinking it will mess up that connection once I uninstall/reinstall from my mobile.

I had not thought about using Passwordless Unlock on multiple computers. You are correct that uninstalling the mobile app would mess up the system that is working. But this information brings up the question of what differences you have between the two computers.

Are you using the same browser and version on both? Same OS version on both?

Same on both. The only difference in that area would be that the other computer was Windows10 that got the auto upgrade and the one with the issues was Windows11 from the start. It had been working normally for over a month and just recently started acting up; even to the point of having to add it back to my browsers toolbar from time to time.

When you uninstalled the NPM extension in your browser, did you restart the computer between the uninstall and reinstall? Not sure if this could be involved, but try clearing your browser’s cache.

What browser are you using on both computers?

If I didn’t restart at that point, it has definitely been restarted since. I did not restart after the uninstall before reinstalling.

Browser is firefox on both.
