Having a weird problem, not sure if malware is related

Hi, I've been having a strange problem with my Norton Antivirus 2009.  I'm getting that "send terminate message to window" entry in the history log.  Other people have had this problem, but what makes my problem different is that looking in the history log is the only thing that triggers this action.  I recently had a malware infection and went to bleepingcomputer.com for help.  (first topic, second topic) After cleaning the computer, the person helping me recommended that I uninstall and reinstall NAV.  I'd like to ask what Norton users would advise.

Just today, I did scans with MBAM, SUPERAntiSpyware and Norton.  All the scans came up empty except for cookies.  However, during the SAS scan, I got a message that said (roughly) something like this:

The data by log desktop messenger is still engaged by user sean

Proceed here instead        Exit

I clicked "proceed here instead," but after about a minute, it said "failed." So I just clicked the red X.  Nothing else happened after that.

Also, Norton logged unauthorized access from MBAM and SAS when I ran them.  I don't think that's ever happened before.  I'd appreciate any help.  Thanks.
