My computer was accidentally turned off when it was booting up. I restarted and had to reload back to a time when the computer worked. When I was able to finally get on, my norton 360 product was showing that it was at risk. The problem was that my auto-protect, SONAR advanced protection, Antispyware, Inbound Email Scanning, and Outbound Email Scanning were turned off. I go to settings and turn them on. I then hit apply, wait for it to apply then I close Norton 360. I opened it back up and those same settings were turned off again.
Any way to fix this, besides reinstalling the software (as I no longer have the discs)?
Hello Battiysai
You will need your product key if you are going to reinstall N360. You can get your product key from mynortonaccount.com. After you reinstall N360, please run live update several times until you have no more updates. Then please check to see that you have version 4.1. If you don't have that version, then please reboot and run live update again until you get that version. Please come back and let us know how you made out. Thanks.
You can get the Norton Removal Tool and use that to remove N360. Please be aware though that it will remove all Norton products.
You can download the Norton Removal tool from
http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docurl=20080710133834EN&selected_nav=partner
Please pick the proper Norton product that you want to remove. Also please be aware that it will remove all Norton products, so back up Identity Safe using the program to back that up. Also please have your product key handy.
