I know there are a few posts already out there in the heart bleed issue. I’ve posted some questions on them and thought not fair that I derail the OP question is I’ll post mine here
I understand that the issue has to do with security encryption when logging on to secure part of a website
But it got me wondering when I start my PC and it accesses the internet
I have cable internet so when my PC is on it automatically connects to the internet
Good chance I may be way if course in this but
1. Is it using that same SSL process?
Does my PC need to send off a password somewhere just to access the internet? If so is the password sent the SSL way that is currently vulnerable?
2. Does my router send out a password to access the internet? Again does it use this same bugged process?
3. If so can my id and password be taken? What can happen then since my PC doesn’t contain any financial information
I do not use the email available to me by my ISP
Time warner cable, so I don’t have an email that i need to change the password on
