Help - NIS2010 to allow ping?

It seems that everything is fine before i realized this;

but when I suddenly decided to use ping after installed NIS2010 for 6 months,

I found out that i can only ping to myself(127.0.0.1 and localhost). when i try to ping others for example www.yahoo.com it's for ever timed out.(but i can always use my internet browsing and downloading files and playing WOW/EVE etc.)

i've checked the ICMP configures sometimes doing:

1. stop using the "Default Block ICMP" - not working

2.modified the strategy to allow ICMP - not working

3.add a new strategy to allow ICMP - not working

My system is updated Vista and the windows firewall has been turned off.the NIS 2010 is also updated.

Why is this?

No it's still timed out.

and as tracert the first 3 hops replied within 1ms - with the Smart Firewall on.But the following shows stars and  they are timed out.

That would tend to indicate that something on the route from your system to www.yahoo.com is blocking the pings. Does ping work if you try, say, the third hop's address?

No, ping to all 3 hops are still 100% loss.

Would that be possibly because of my network service company? Do you know about ResLan?

Well thank you for your time taken, reese.

That does seem a bit odd. Yes, it could be something that your network provider is doing. I would first contact their technical support and if they don't know what's going on try to reset the firewall per the instructions that I already provided.

Thank you so much for these help!
