My AVG virus protection rand out and they wanted more money for each computer. I saw a Fry's ad with rebate and would cover 3 computers. I got Norton Internet Security and Norton Utilities. Installation on the 64 bit Vista machine went smoothly. The Windows 7 computer was a pain in the **bleep** to install. Supposedly Norton's found problem on both systems. I use the internet mostly with the Vista computer, But not the computer barely function. Some sites will not open at all like Drudge, other sites take minutes to load. Computer now runs really slow.too. I have Intel quad Q9550@2.83GHz with 8GB of ram. At this point if I can not fix this I will uninstall Norton's and buy something else. My wife says I am a Dummy for letting Norton's auto fix any problems it found. I found it deleted all my password. Norton's also wanted to put and extra password protection in, but it would not accept my password even though I followed it's password rules. I finally gave up on it. Also Window is complain no that I am not protected. I have no firewall or malware protection. When I click on it I do not see Nortons as an option. With AVG windows recognized that it was handling the protections. Apparently, Vista can not see Nortons. I am not all that tech savvy. It appears to me that I made a mistake in buying Nortons as you have to be really tech savvy. I had both Nortons back in the first Windows days and no problems. Anybody care to guess what happened. I suspect when I told it to optimize and fix registry problems I screwed myself. Please let me know how I can fix this. I have fast internet, but I am back in the days of the 56k modem.
