Help with NU-15 installation Please!

Hi All!

I am really stuck and Norton Tech Support does not seem to be able to make any progress. When I try to install NU-15 I get all the way to the "finish" screen and then the installer stops. If you look on Task Manager you can see NU.EXE is running with 50% CPU usage. If you "end process" NU-15 will bring up a screen allowing you to upgrade the software which it seems to do. I never get any further to the scan disk or enter the activation code. Click on the shortcut on the desktop and you get the spinning donut and then nothing. Check Task Manager and you can see NU.EXE running. NU.EXE will appear each time you click on the shortcut so you will have multiple listings on NU.EXE, one for each time you click the shortcut. I have removed everything I can think of that might cause a problem. I deleted Avast, Malware Bytes and Cisco VPN. Did a chkdsk /f /r /x which took all night. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling NU-15 several times with the same result. Yes I did frequent reboots, ran Ccleaner to check for registry errors and now I do not know what to do. NU-15 was running before and what I have not tried is running it in XP compatibility mode. Anyone have any ideas on what to try or how to troubleshoot this problem?
