Within the last few days some how I lost access to a program. It says I need to give it access in my Firewall. I went to the "Smart Firewall" settings and that program still set at "Allow."

What else am I missing?
Can you give us more info, re the program you are using ? You could try removing it from the firewall settings, and try to re-access the program. If Norton is working properly, it should grant auto access...
There is a drop down menu arrow on the RHS of the word allow with various options try changing the options?
Try removing the programme from the firewall list, with the remove button, restart the computer. Then use the add button to replace the programme.
At the time the problem occurred had you downloaded any software or installed any software or hardware or had any unusual system activity?
Check when Norton last updated by clicking the Norton icon, click advanced and under computer protection, click on days ago. An update may have affected the programme.
When I remove the program/restart the PC/ re-open the program/then open NIS - the program is listed in the configure Rules section of the Smart Firewall.
I changed the setting from Auto to Allow.
Also - Intesec - what is a "RHS" ?
Also (#2) - thinking of removing NIS and then re-installing.
When I check for updates, I am told I have the current version. For kicks & fun I ran Norton's Auto Detect pkg - result was No Norton Product found. Well thats disturbing.
Shame, after being a ESET & Bit Defender user for many years, thought I give Norton a try. Its been fine for 6 months so not sure what the deal is now.
sethm1, RHS is right hand side ! Intesec is being highly technical ! You could TRY the re-move and re-install tool downloadable from Norton. That will as mentioned before, give you hopefully a trouble free clean install. Run Live Update until there are no more updates and then you should be able to access Applian Director without any hassles.
Ftr, I am running the current version and it is working fine.....
As you have had other security software on the system and try and remember if any trial security software came with the computer? If you can’t remember maybe contact the supplier is an option?
To uninstall any security software use the windows add/remove programme then restart the computer, then run the removal tool for the specific version of the security software that is available from the security software’s main site, then restart the computer. This process should be done for each security software to be uninstalled, meaning one at a time.
Reinstall Norton, run live updates as many times as it takes to get, no more live updates, restarting as required.
You might like to backup your personal data and your identity safe if you use it.
Click the link below then choose the correct version of the removal tool for the Norton software.
So far after a second refresh of the Firewall, all OK.
I have already downloaded the NIS removal tool if I need to.
I have no other antispyware programs on my PC.
I had SuperAnti-Spyware and Malware bytes - but both off now (and has been a while) as Norton popped up with a conflict one day and suggested I uninstall them.
