many web sites do not allow access from known VPN IP addresses. They do this for copyright, legal, security, and political reasons. There is nothing a VPN provider can or should do to circumvent these legal protections. See this How to Geeks article. https://www.howtogeek.com/403771/why-do-some-websites-block-vpns/
It could be that the sites updated their list of known IP addresses when you started seeing them blocked.
For your email. If you use a local email client and not web based email, you can exclude your email client from the VPN by adding it to the Split Tunnel feature in your VPN Settings. See this Norton Support article. https://support.norton.com/sp/en/us/home/current/solutions/v131881814
It’s not very impressive that Norton’s own safe search is blocked by the Norton VPN, which is happening to me, to get that “Hmmm… can’t reach this page” error.
In fact I also had to disable my Norton VPN to access this community page too, so it appears that Norton is pretty efficient at blocking its own products. If only they spent as much time creating and maintaining something good, instead of pouring all their dev effort into more and more upselling pop-ups.
