Home Assistant App with Norton 360 iOS

The Home Assistant iOS app (https://apps.apple.com/us/app/home-assistant/id1099568401) not playing nice with Norton 360 with Safe Web enabled.  Get connection errors.  Disable safe web and access restored.

Home Assistant Server is a docker container (macvlan with fixed IP) running on the same home network and subnet as the iOS App.

Can provide further information if required

Thanks for the suggestion inzamam but it appears the iOS Safe Web is an on/off feature with no access to any under the hood settings for fine tuning such as a whitelist.

On the subject of whitelisting, that would be a good suggestion for a feature request?

Hi Robaugo, Norton 360's Safe Web feature is likely blocking the connection between your Home Assistant iOS app and server. Disabling Safe Web fixes it, but you might need to tweak Norton's settings to allow the connection while keeping Safe Web on.

I've notified my contact and gave him a link to this thread.

Hi peterweb,

Error report submitted as requested just missing the link to this forum thread.

Safe Web has been known to have trouble with specific apps and network setups.

As you have identified that it is Safe Web that is causing the issue, please send logs to Norton to help them diagnose what is wrong.

Start by opening iOS settings on your device and scroll down to the bottom where the apps are listed. Tap on the Norton  360 app and tap to Enable Debug Log.

Now use your device until it causes the issue you are having. Then open the 360 app and tap on the three bars at the top left, then tap Help. Tap on Send Error Report and fill in any information requested. In your submission, please include "forum 'your username' " in the Case ID section of the report. Also include a link to this thread.

If you do send logs, please let me know and I'll notify my contacts to look for them.
