I fogot my administartor password on my windows 10, Dell laptop, and I didn't have a reset disk and be not very familiar with command prompt. so, does Noton provides solutions to help bypass windows 10 password?
Ophcrac is easy to operate, but in the past 2 years, it seems that it rarely works on Windows computers. For Windows 10 computers,Offiine NT Password & Registry Editor does a great job. This tool is very popular in the IT industry. But the only drawback is that it is not easy to operate. Eighty percent of this tool is based on text operations. This is a test of computer skills,TunesBro WinGeeker Ultimate is a non-free software, similar to this software, it has reset the login password on my computer, I am confident that it resets the password.
Hello Jack. As I stated in my earlier post, FREE isn't free. There are always back doors for downloads to occur and the user has already granted that permission with the initial install of said freeware. Avast FREE as an example, turned out to be a data mining issue for them and they got caught at it. Use freeware at your own peril. I personally and professionally, would NEVER suggest freeware that has access to UEFI. Windows 10 neither needs nor requires registry editing and is by design. Ophcrack messing with Windows SAM tables? Not on my machines or any of my customers. There are legit methods to recover lost login passwords. Unfortunately for W10, a LOCAL login cannot be recovered. As always thanks for the alternate insight.
Cheers
SoulAsylum:FWIW!! I wouldn't recommend ANYTHING that is freeware to perform an UEFI boot. In this case UEFI is preventing the USB device from being detected. Changing to a legacy boot will allow the USB device to be bootable. The Microsoft article previously provided is the safest means to correct the issue if followed correctly.

there are many great software like ntpassword, ophcrack or LCP could perform UEFI boot without damaging BIOS. Like:
1. TunesBro WinGeeker Ultimate
2. Ophcrack
3. LCP
4. John the Ripper
5. Offline NT Password & Registry Editor

PCUnlocker, Kon-boot and Passcape should work, all of them support UEFI boot.
HickGordon:I'm certainly not a specialist, BUT I think it's time to reinstall Windows
The problem can be if that turns out to require the password ..... unless you are prepared to lose all personal data -- of course you have that backed up of drive don't you? <g>

Raymond. In your BIOS disable UEFI and select legacy. Make sure the USB device is first in the boot list. Restart and use the reset USB.
