If I go to Windows "Task Manager" the "Processes" screen, one of the processes should be the Norton Ati Virus program. Does anyone know it's name?
I thought it used to be NAV something but I don't see any processes with a name that, or any that I would think was the Anti Virus's name.
Thanks in advance.
For version NAV2009 and NIS2009 the process is ccSvcHst.exe, if you are referring to the AutoProtection / Symantec service. If you see this then Norton is loaded and functioning even if the main window will not open.
How can I turn on the system tray icon? I want to see the icon to make sure it is running. This option was available in other versions, wasn’t it?
System tray icon is turned on by default and it’s only one, unlike older versions. Now only the well known Norton Protection Center icon appears. When it shows a green check mark, that means that auto-protect and firewall are on. When you right on the icon, you’ll notice that one of the options is “Disable Antivirus Auto-Protect”. That means that auto-protect is currently on and can be disabled.

...along with Intrusion Prevention and Anti-Phishing. Please Note that Norton AntiVirus 2009 does not have a Firewall or Anti-Phishing. For more information, please Search for Norton AntiVirus 2009: No Firewall, in the Forum Search Bar. Thanks!!
