Norton interferes with backup, so I have been disabling it. I would select the option for five hours, which would allow backup to run, and then Norton would automatically turn back on. This worked for years. About two weeks ago, however, this stopped working. I would click Settings > Antivirus, and clear Auto-Protect, and select the option for five hours. Is there another way to disable Norton, so that backup can run?
Hello @Shane
Are you reporting…Norton 360 real-time protection interferes with manually running Norton Cloud Backup?
What DIY troubleshooting have you tried?
What does Norton support regarding Norton 360 real-time protection interferes with manually running Norton Cloud Backup?
Sorry, I wasn’t referring to Norton Cloud Backup. There is a backup application that I wrote myself.
I’ve tried adding false-positives to an exclusion list, but a backup which should only take four hours takes over twelve hours, and I have to stop it before it completes.
Well, from this distance…and since I’m not familiar with your “backup application”…and since you feel about two weeks ago your Norton 360 changed…then may be time to try DIY troubleshooting.
Note: Reset to Default resets Norton Cloud Backup.
