I have an android 5.1 and am changing to android 6.
When I installed the mobile version to my tablet, my passwords did not transfer with it. Why?
I don't use the cloud, I use the local vault. I tried to bring my logins over when I was given this tablet a few months ago, using an email link to the folder with my logins. Doesn't work on tablet?
A local vault is just that. Local to the PC you are using. The mobile version of ID Safe will only work with a cloud vault.
I know I will lose my local vault when I switch from NIS to Norton Security Premium, right? Local vault won't work there either?
Not true. When you upgrade to the new Norton Security Premium, your local vault should still be working. You just cannot create a new local vault with the newer products.

Yes. The easiest thing would be to just convert your current vault, but you will then lose the access to a local vault. There is a way to get this back, but one step at a time.
Before you do anything, be sure you have exported your current local vault and save it in a safe place. You should copy it to a thumb drive in case anything goes wrong while making changes.

If you are just upgrading the Android OS, all apps and settings should be retained. If you are asking about Identity Safe, it should not be affected by the OS upgrade. If you do have trouble, you only need to re install the Identity Safe app and then sign into your Norton Account and Vault. The vault is stored in the cloud, so no loss of logins whatever happens with the OS upgrade.
