Hi guys, ok been with Norton for years, left around a year ago because I couldn’t get Norton to work with nicehash.
I don’t really understand why nicehash quickminer isn’t allowed, the software is signed and has been around for years now.
If you can give me a step by step how to get it working I would appreciate it.
This is what I’ve done :

Change the default setting for the removal of Infected Files
(Settings->Antivirus->Scans and Risks->Computer Scans->Remove Infected Folders) -
Add your NiceHash directory to Scan Exclusions
(Settings->Antivirus->Scans and Risks->Items to Exclude from Scans->Configure)
1. C:\Program Files\NiceHash (including subfolders should be checked) -
Add your NiceHash directory to Real Time Exclusions
(Settings->Antivirus->Scans and Risks->Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, Script Control, SONAR, Download Intelligence Detection->Configure)
1. C:\Program Files\NiceHash (including subfolders should be checked) -
Add the following items to Signature Exclusions
(Settings->Antivirus->Scans and Risks->Signatures to Exclude from All Detections->Configure)
1. Miner.Bitcoinminer
2. Trojan.Coinminer -
Deactivate the following Intrusion Exclusions
(Settings->Firewall->Intrusion and Browser Protection->Intrusion Signatures->Configure)
You can confirm the signatures that you’re required to deactivate by cross referencing the “Security History” logs which can be found by right clicking the icon in the system tray. This will detail the individual items that are causing your QuickMiner to not properly connect. You may be required to add additional exclusions that I haven’t listed below; use said logs to validate.

Allow custom internet access for the following applications
(Settings->Firewall->Program Control)
1. Excavator v1.6.xx Build xxx
2. XMRig Miner
3. NiceHash QuickMiner
Intrusion autoblock is being a pain. I do all this and it keeps popping up:
- System Infected: Miner.Bitcoinminer Activity 16
2. System Infected: Miner.Bitcoinminer Activity 7
3. System Infected: Miner.Bitcoinminer Activity 6
4. System Infected: Coinminer Activity 2
5. System Infected: Trojan.Coinminer Activity 21
These cannot be ignored or blocked, thus nicehash gets blocked/ stops working.
I’m not using Norton mining because Norton takes a huge portion of profits with high fees.
