I don't know if this is a virus, malware, or what but can someone tell me how to get rid of it because it's driving me crazy.
Leon Draw:I followed your steps and it appears that it worked. Malwarebytes didn't locate it but Hitman Pro did. In fact in found a LOT. Guess that's what I get for trying to watch Sands of Iowa Jima for free lol. I sure appreciate you taking the time out to reply and offering a valid solution. I very much appreciate it.
Are you running Malwarebytes real-time protection? I see M button in your Taskbar.
Curious, if you run Malwarebytes real-time protections. Do you run mutual exclusions with Norton & Malwarebytes?
Are you running Malwarebytes Browser Guard extension?
Malwarebytes Forums recommends uBlock Origin with Malwarebytes Browser Guard. uBlock Origin developer urges not to duplicate filters. My uBlock Origin runs EasyList/EasyPrivacy filters...so, I run my MBG (that uses EasyList by default) with Ads/Trackers globally disabled. Just me.
Okay, so MalwareTips - Remove 123movies Pop-up Ads (Virus Removal Guide) - help'd.
Happy to hear MalwareTips self-help guide help'd.
Maybe, you allowed 123movie.net push notifications?
Maybe, you allowed 3rd party cookies?

HitmanPro finds tracking cookies, too. Maybe, "found a LOT" were tracking cookies?

Remove 123movies Pop-up Ads (Virus Removal Guide)
If your browser is constantly being redirected to the 123movies site, then you most likely have an unwanted browser extension or a malicious program installed on your device.
You are seeing the 123movies ads because your device is infected with malware, malicious push notifications, or a site you have visited has redirected your browser.
Less than reputable sites can display malicious ads that redirect your browser to the 123movies ads to generate advertising revenue. If this happens, you can close the page and install an ad blocker to block the malicious ads. However, if you continuously see pop-ups like 123movies, then your computer might be infected with a malicious program, and you need to scan your device for adware and remove it.
Here are a few typical signs that you have a malicious program installed on your computer:
- Advertisements appear in places they shouldn’t be.
- Your web browser’s homepage has mysteriously changed without your permission.
- Web pages that you typically visit are not displaying properly.
- Website links redirect to sites different from what you expected.
- Browser popups appear which recommend fake updates or other software.
- Other unwanted programs might get installed without your knowledge.
If your computer starts redirecting you to 123movies for no reason then you most likely have malware installed on the computer. To check your computer for adware, browser hijackers, or other malicious programs and remove them for free, please use the guide below.

Those look like scam popups from malformed ads on a website you are viewing. Be sure you do not click on any links or buttons on those popups.
Start by doing a full system scan with your Norton 360. Then I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/
Going forward, installing an ad blocker extension in your browser will help block this kind of popup.
