How do I identify my different iphones protected by Norton 360?

I am using Norton 360 and I have 3 iphones protected but I can’t figure out which is which.

How do I differentiate them so I can rename them properly?

To differentiate multiple iPhones in your Norton account, the most reliable method is to bring them online one at a time while monitoring the Norton portal.

How to Identify Your iPhones
Because Norton often uses generic names like “Apple iPhone” or the specific model name (e.g., “iphone_14_pro”), it can be hard to tell them apart. Use these steps to identify which device is which:

  • The “Online Status” Method: Any device currently connected to the internet and active will show an “Online” status next to its name in the Norton My Devices page.
    1. Turn off the internet (or power down) two of the iPhones.
    2. Keep the third iPhone on and open the Norton 360 app.
    3. Log into your account on a computer and see which device shows as Online.
    4. Rename that device immediately (e.g., “Dad’s iPhone 14”).
  • Registration Date: You can check the date each device was first protected. If you added the phones on different days, this is a quick way to tell them apart. Go to My Account > My Subscriptions > Manage Licenses to see these dates.
  • The “Trial and Error” Rename: Change the name of one iPhone in the Norton portal to something distinct like “TEST-1”. Then, on an iPhone, open the Norton 360 app, tap Help, and check About (if available) to see if the name has updated to “TEST-1”.

How to Rename Your Devices
Once you have identified a phone, follow these steps to rename it:

  1. Sign in to your Norton account.
  2. Navigate to the My Devices page.
  3. Find the device you just identified and click the three dots (or Edit Name icon) in the bottom right corner of its tile.
  4. Enter a unique name (up to 40 characters) and click Save.

Tip: If you are using the newest version of the portal (v24), the “Edit Name” option might be missing from the “My Devices” tab. If so, you may need to go to My Account > My Subscriptions > Manage Licenses to find the rename or delete options.

Caveat: I’m not iOS
fwiw ~ Norton knows my mobile devices by their Samsung model numbers

It is difficult for iOS devices as Norton does not seem to be able to access the device name you have in each device.

It’s a bit of a fiddle but what I have found is to remove 360 from the iOS devices and check in your Norton Account that you have removed them from the Devices page and the My Subscription page. Then install on one device and wait until it shows up in your Norton Account. Then you can edit the name on the Devices page. Lather, rinse, repeat until all devices are named.

Not ideal. But a work around.
