I uninstalled my N360 and got a new copy with a new product key. When I install N360, it just detects the previous install and uses all the details from the previous install and does not let me register with the new product key.
1. How is N360 remembering the previous details? I did the uninstall, and I also did the Norton Removal Tool, and I also went through the registry and removed all references to 'norton'? How do I complete remove Norton? This is worse than spyware I had before!
2. How do I reinstall N360 using a new product key?

Thanks, I will try that.
But how does N360 remember my previous product key? When I told Norton to delete itself, I told it to remove all user data.

Norton's memory is better than that of an elephant!
Was the new copy downloaded via Norton Account (did you have to sign in?) or was it installed from a disc? If the former, then that's how it knows--you signed in.
Also, the license for the previous copy is saved in your Norton Account. Using the same e-mail address when registering the new copy will also let Norton know that it's you.
BTW, you can sign in to your Norton Account here.
Thanks for all your suggestions.
I had the .exe I downloaded from a previous installation from a month ago, so I used that for the re-install. It did not give me an option to enter my email details nor option to input my new product key. It just figured out my details by itself.
This is not good. I would like to complete wipe Norton from my system. How do I do this? Where is the Norton details kept? Why doesn't Norton Removal Tool does its job of removal?
Hi, again.
Let me get this straight.
1) First, you removed Norton 360 with the Removal Tool and then you "restored" it from a copy of the software that you saved somewhere?
2) You say that Norton didn't give you the option to enter your e-mail address. By that, do you mean just during the reinstall or during the initial install as well?
