Actually, as long as you renew before your subscription runs out, it should be way simpler than that. You only need to renew once, and as long as all of your PCs are connected to the Internet, it should reflect on them all automatically (as long as they're all on the same subscription).
If it doesn't help automatically, you can manually synchronize each recalcitrant PC from the Subscription Status function you can access from your Norton 360 main screen.
Let us know how this works for you---we're here to help until you're ready to click that "Accept as Solution" button so other users experiencing the same thing can more easily find an answer that worked!
I've got 9 days left so I'll wait until next week to renew.
You mention the 3 computers being connected to the internet - sorry to be obtuse (it's a senior moment!!) - are you saying when I renew on one PC, the other two should be connected at the same time to auto synch?
Not necessarily--not that it would hurt. Just that I've had cases (including with one of my machines) where a machine that hadn't been used for a couple of months, after the renewal, came up saying its subscription had explired and tthus needed to be re-synched manually. So I'd just suggest that within a day or two after your successful renewal (and before your original subscription expiration date), you log onto each of the other machines, make sure they're showing your renewed subscription, and if they don't synch in an hour or two, manually synch them.
P.S. You're certainly welcome to wait, if for some reason you really want to...but just in case you're thinking that you'd lose any remaining subscription days, you won't. As long as you're renewing, and not buying a new product with a new one-year subscription, your leftover subscription days will just be added onto the new 366 days you get with the renewal.
Thanks for the info - what I did a couple of months ago was to take advantage of a special offer from a local retail shop and bought a full retail version (it is Norton 360 Ver5 the same as on the computers) - it was about 50% of the Norton renewal price! and I was assured by Norton support that this route was OK - I just had to use the product key for renewal - within the next few days I'll be finding out if it is OK!
Ohh...that does ccomplicate things a little--although if you do wait until next week, I understand that if you click renew on each machine it will give you the opportunity to enter a new Key rather than just take you to the renewal website.
You will have to do this on each machine separately, though--so disregard everything in my earlier responses. What you are doing is installing a different subscription...and until you type in that new Key, each of your machines is still going to be governed by the status of your original subscription, which will expire on the day it's been telling you.
Just about to have lunch, will try and enter the key on all three machines later!
Can't be as hard as entering the correct Captcha at the end of this message -- will confirm later how I've got on, it's worth losing a few days subscription to ensre it keeps working.
When you're done (and your new subscription is active on all three computers), you can recover those subscription days, should you choose to, by contacting Norton's Live Chat customer support center. They can usually fix you up in a matter of minutes.
It was as simple as you said - clicked on the "renew" link and was given the option of putting in a new key - on the first machine, I had to then log onto "My Norton Account" to register the "new" subscription. On the 2 remaining machines, I entered the new key and it automatically registered against the new subscription.
All the best and have a good weekend.
PS I noticed there is another thread about purchasing cheaper retail packs than were being offered for renewals - this is the path I went down in the summer. Don't know if there needs to be a link between the two threads.
I'll try and but the success flag against this post
