How does Ghost tell ext drives apart when assigning an alias?

Hi All,

When we assign an alias to an external drive so it can keep up with drive letter changes, what is Ghost checking to tell the drives a part?  Is it the drive label, drive serial number, etc?

I only ask as it will be relevant when assigning drive labels or buying drives that Windows doesnt see as different serials, etc.

Thanks!

The label is stored in the image index on the drive itself.  It's dependant on the backup set.  This helps eliminate potential problems like what you mention.
