How to be an administrator

Norton says disk needs optimization, it won't let me says not an administrator, I am owner and the only user of computer

have tried to see how to do it but instructions from Microsoft don't help. Using hpSpectre computer running windows 10.

Hello babs16 If you are unsure your account is an admin perform the following steps to verify that and/or change your account type in Windows:

  • Use the Windows key + R keyboard shortcut to open the run command, type netplwiz, and press Enter.
  • Select the user account and click the Properties button.
  • Click the Group Membership tab.
  • Choose the account type: Standard User or Administrator. ...
  • Click OK.
