How to check for browser security exploit?

Hi there, I'm just curious how to find out or check if there is a browser security exploit in one's browser or PC. I entered a site on accident that millions of users go to apparently (9down.com which gives news on the latest software and offers downloads). Mcafee Site Advisor states a security browser exploit occurred while they were browsing the site with their test PC.

I use Firefox, run Avira, and Ad-Aware. I have cookies set to be deleted upon closing firefox, I have adblock plus installed, and site rating advisors.

I did an online browser security vulnerability test and passed all the tests.

Hi Jordan_L,

I checked the 9down.com in Norton Safe Web and it seems to be safe.

Eventhough the Norton Safe Web shows it as Safe, be cautious while downloading as you don't know where the threat is hiding. Better re-scan whenever you download any free software from this web site using your Norton program.
