I am trying to delete some unneeded individual files and individual folders in my Norton 360 Cloud Backup. The Norton instructions say: 1) In Windows Explorer, click Norton Backup Drive; 2) Select the Backup Destination and Navigate to the backup set destination that contains the file that you backed up; 3) Do one of the following: Right-click to select the files to delete, and then click delete OR select the file, and then click delete.
The problem I have is that when I arrive at the file or folder that I want to delete, if I highlight it, the download option appears. There is no Delete option. Hitting the Delete key does nothing. When I right click, a window opens but there is no delete option. How do I get to the delete option? BTY, I have Network Cost Awareness in Firewall Settings set to No Limit
Delete a file from a backup set on the Norton Backup Drive
In Windows Explorer, click Norton Backup Drive.
Select the backup destination, and navigate to the backup set destination that contains the file that you backed up.
Do one of the following:

Right-click to select the files to delete, and then click Delete.

Select the file, and then click Delete.

I was able to work my way through the process of deleting individual files from the Norton 360 Cloud Backup. The instructions on the Norton website are fairly cryptic. So, I will lay out the process for anyone else who may be having difficulty. This applies to a PC running Windows 10 using the Google Chrome Browser. Here goes.
When you create a Norton backup set or perhaps when you start the actual backup, Norton puts a “file” on your computer with an icon on the desktop labeled “Norton Backup Drive.” The Norton Backup Drive “file” is not actually a file. It is a shortcut link which, when clicked, takes you to the Norton website. If you do not have an icon on your desktop, use Windows Search (the magnifying glass in the left corner of your lower toolbar. Search for Norton Backup Drive and you will find the shortcut/link). When you arrive at the Norton website, you will need to log onto your account. After logging in, the link then takes you directly to the Backup Drive page for your backup. If you have more than one backup set, it will display all of them. Click on the backup set in which you want to delete individual files.
Then you will have to go through a series of clicks. In my case, I wanted to delete backed up files that were in the Windows 10 Documents folder. So, I had to click on C:, wait for the contents of C: to populate, then click on the Users folder, then click on the folder for the name of my PC and finally on the Documents folder. The total contents of my backup set amounted to 93GB. After each click there was a long wait while the contents populated. The waits might be shorter if you have a smaller backup or if you have a faster internet connection than mine. When I finally got to the contents of the Documents folder, I was able to highlight the files I wanted to delete (using CTRL + Left Click to highlight multiple entries). When all of the files were highlighted, I right clicked. A window opened asking me if I wanted to delete the items. I clicked Yes. Then, it asked me if I was sure that I wanted to delete the items. I clicked Confirm. There was another long wait and a Manage Backup Sets window came up which said, “Removing Files.” There was another long wait followed by a new message stating “Files Removed.”
I logged out of Norton and then logged back in to check if the files were actually deleted. After working my way through the process again to the contents of the Documents folder, I was able to see that the documents were indeed no longer there in the backup.
So, the process does work. But, it will take a while. Have patience.
