How to get an Retail CD of Norton 360 4.0 (i brought a license on Symantec Online Store)?

Hi,

Last month i brought a licence of Norton 360 4.0 for 3 PC's and 2 Years in the Symantec Online Store. I have a product key and a download link for the program, but i want a a retail disk of the software or an .ISO image to burn on a CD.

I can't find any option to buy only the disk and i didin't find the .ISO image of the program in Symantec FTP.

Someone can help me?

I really want the Retail version of the program (Compact Disk) so, please don't tell me to burn the executable on a CD :D

Regards.

Hello csoyen

You can try customer support to see if you can get a hard copy of the program also. I'm not sure if they still will provide a hard copy or not, but I think they are the ones who you can ask. You can contact them for free via the chat program. I don't know if they will have the answer. Here is the link for it.

http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/contact/contact.jsp?pvid=cs

This is the link for US/Can. If you need a different location, please consult your local Symantec site for the local free chat customer support link.

Please come back and let us know if this has helped. Thanks.

Hi,

I contact Symantec but they cannot provide me a CD of Retail Package or an .ISO image of program.

I don't know what i need to do. I brought a product ( it was very expensive for me) and i don't have the right to purchase the Compact Disk version of the program.

I don't know if this is legal as this forum, but i don't have other ways to ask for help. If someone can help me at this problem send me a PM (if you are understand my point).

Regards.

First off by the time you have the Retail Installation CD, it would be out of date. You would  need to download the updates yourself for Norton 360 4.  Available at

  http://www.symantec.com/norton/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&selected_nav=&pvid=&docurl=20090121104844EN

You are better off to backup all of your installation programs,  to a CD, DVD or external drive.. Also you can download the Norton Bootable Recovery Tool at

Hi scoyen

I am quite sorry if I offended you with saying the best way is to backup Norton installation files to a CD.  But you must realize as soon as you buy the retail disc, it is out of date. The only reason  to buy the CD is the license for the product and Norton Bootable Recovery Tool Disc.

Hi,

No problem.

I really want the retail CD because all my software (almost) are backed up in CD. Original CD.

I brought the licence online because in my region Norton 360 4.0 is not in the retail market (still), so i can't buy it.

This is the only reason (the boot option too) because i want a retail CD. But, i don't understand Symantec. If need i can buy a CD but they can't sell me a CD.

This is no the behavior that i want from Symantec.

Hello csoyen

Did you buy the license online from your local Symantec website? You mentioned that you had to do that because version 4 isn't available in your local stores yet. I don't know, but maybe once it is available in your local stores, it may be available in the online store also. I remember that there was a time when you could get a CD version, but it cost an extra fee. I don't know if they still have that choice going on or not. They may have eliminated that choice now.

The bootable Norton Recover Tool is available for download. You can get it from here:

http://www.norton.com/recoverytool_n360

The download is an ISO file containing the recovery tool only.

I am fairly certain that Norton have said that the website store no longer does anything but downloads -- possibly in part because they now run the store in house and not through a third party that provides that service for many companies.

Downloading the complete installation file and copying it to a Thumbdrive is the best solution since it can be updated as new versions reach the download site. In any case I prefer this for installing rather than using a download manager.

Hello Hugh

Thanks for jarring my memory. I think I remember something about Symantec having that other place that sold the software.

Hi,

After a lot of search i surrender. I can't get an ISO image of Norton 360. Is a shame i can't buy a physical support of my product.

I will download N360 and N360 Boot Toll and bur in separated Cd's.

Thanks to every person that help me.

Regards.
