How To Make Sure All Remanences of Kaspersky Are Off Machine

Hello everyone.  I am a Kaspersky to Norton convert, and I did an Add-Remove Programs Uninstall of Kaspersky Internet Security and it came up with an option to "remove all saved data" and I clicked then and uninstalled the program.

However, it looks like Kaspersky URL Advisor might still be an add on that didn't get erased in Firefox.

How can I be sure that all parts of Kaspersky were removed and that my NORTON is fully functioning without any conflict?

Eric

ok, So I used their REMOVAL TOOL to completely remove Kaspersky, and then rebooted.  However, should I then do a complete re-install of NIS2012?  I hope I wouldn't have to.

Once again, here are the steps I took:

1.)  Uninstalled KIS2012 via Add-Remove programs

2.)  Selected checkbox that said "remove ALL data" and uninstalled

3.)  Rebooted.

4.)  Installed NIS2012

5.)  Found out there is a Kaspersky removal tool...downloaded and ran it

6.)  Rebooted

is this sufficient?  Is my Norton ok?

Hi Eric,

I suppose you might find the link mentioned below useful. It is a Kasprsky Removal tool it can be used to remove all the traces of the kaspersky from the computer.

Hi Eric,

It seems that you have done all that needs to be done to take care of the issue. I suppose this should make sure that the norton works fine.

When you got the Kasperski removal tool did you check out the Info -- step by step instructions -- since there's a reference at the end to:

By default, a log file with the name kavremvr xxxx-xx-xx xx-xx-xx (pid xxxx).txt will be saved in the folder where the utility is located.

You can find the full version number of kavremover.exe in the file kavremover.txt.

So you could also seek them out and delete them with the downloaded Kasperski tool? -- use uninstall for the tool if it appears in the Remove Programs listing
