Running XP-Pro SP3, IE 8, NIS 2010.
Have downloaded latest ver of NIS 2011 (18.6.0.29) from www.norton.com/nis11.
Have read that starting with NIS 2010, the NIS upgrades (NIS 2011) will properly and correctly install over NIS 2010. Is this what others have found to be really true?
Previously, I would uninstall an NIS program via the Add/Remove function then manually check for any obvious left over folders, files and registry entries, reboot, then install the latest NIS version. (No NRT please, I have other Norton programs that I do not want to hassle reinstalling plus it always screws up other programs along the way).
So should I - simply click run/install on NIS 2011 and let it do its thing, or first remove NIS 2010 and then run/install NIS 2011?
