Hello,
I purchased the Norton Premier4 in September2010, I believe I can protect up to 3pc's. I would like to protect another computer how do I do this?
You can install it from the CD and use the same key to activate it. Then run live update until there are no more. I'm guessing that it will take three or more times.
You might also consider upgrading to the 2011 version. With an active subscription it's free. Your existing key will work on the new version.
Thank you so much, I didn't get a CD I downloaded it from the internet. I will update it , and I do have the product key because I wrote it down. Is it a real long list of letters and numbers?
The key will be a 24 character alpha-numeric
It is also stored in your MyAccount file on the Norton server
You can confirm your key by going to your MyNortonAccount and logging into it with the Login ID and password you created. Then click on the entry for your product and you should see the KEY ... I don't know if it has numbers or not.
The easy way is to copy the KEY from there to the clipboard and paste it into notepad then have that file on the new PC, open it and copy/paste the KEY into the activation box -- thta way no errors in typing and the system breaks it down into groups automatically.
You can download the installation file for V5 from here as a single file and save it say on a thumbdrive, then you can install it on each computer ... If you have VISTA or Windows 7 I recommend right mouse clicking ont the installation file and selecting Run as Administrator since I find it more reliable.
You can install V5 on top of V4 and it will uninstall it and install the new version but some people seem to sometimes have problems and recommend uninstalling first and running a cleanup tool. I'd suggest to install on top and if it's OK it's OK and if it's not we can take you through the cleanup.
Do remember to export your Identity Safe settings to a file in a safe place just in case and also so you can import them into the new computer.
If your new computer has any security program on it when you get it please ask us how to remove it before you try to install N360 on it or you will have problems ....
Finally:
New N360 V5:
Norton 360 v5 Premier: http://www.norton_com/n360p_5/ << version with 25GB of online storage
Make sure you get the right version since the keys are not interchangeable. SAVE the file where you can find it -- do not run it from the download site when Windows asks what you want to do.
You can download that file on any computer and transfer it to a thumbdrive to install on another.
When it asks you to activate it you can click on Renew and enter the key there.
Thank You,
I'll print your response and do my best to implement this! I'm a novice but I know I can do it, wish me luck.
Please let us know how it goes .....
Ok, thank you I will!
