Hello I am using Norton 360 2013. As much of a head ache as this software gives me because of its complicated inferface, I am facing yet another issue.
So, I recieved a threat alert which I allowed it by mistake. So, I wanted to delete the trojan which I accidentally allowed BUT I can't figure out how. Here are the screen shots.
We won't be able to see your images until they're approved, but you could try this;
Open N360 > Settings > Antivirus > Scan and Risks tab > scroll down to Exclusions > Items to Exclude from Scans. On the right you should see Configure [+]. Click that and you should see the Trojan you excluded, highlight it and click Remove > OK.
It's something I've never needed to do, so I'm learning here too.
Underneath where it says Items to Exclude from Scans you should see Items to Exclude from Auto-Protect, SONAR and Download Intelligence. Can you check if the item has been excluded there?
As you have allowed the problem file but not excluded it from further scans, a full scan should find it.
If you could let Norton know about the problem file or files and where to find them, they can assess it for being a false positive, please use the link below. If it is a false positive Norton should release an update for the file(s) concerned
I would certainly love to share the detail. I went to this crapy site to download a file [Removed]
I am positive that file itself does not contain any malicious codes. It's the website that offers assistance with it's download manager which injects all the trojans. So, when I agreed to download via file factory manager I accidently allowed it to install the adwares. It installed savenshaarrea etc. i used revo uninstaller to get rid of them but everytime I open my browser it takes me to a different home page norton keeps blocking. It has added addons on browser and added websearch on search engines. I tried to change home page and tried resetting my browser settings but it just refuses to go away.
It sounds like you've installed some PUSes[?] - I think Potentially Unwanted Software sounds more appropriate than the fuzzy sounding PUP - or other malware.
You would be best to seek guidance from and expert, such as Quads, in the Malware Discussion board as intesec suggested.
Your image shows Malwarebytes blocking the website. This would indicate you are using the Pro version with realtime scanning active. This is a No No with security software. You should only be running one security sofware with realtime scanning at a time. Having more than one security program running at the same time can cause conflicts and actually Reduce your protection.
The free version of Malwarebytes is compatible with security software, and can be run as frequently as you wish as a second opinion scan.
