Last time when I have this problem there was a solution - go to classic view and disable backup status overlays. After last update the classic view is not supported! I don’t want any backup icons from Norton. How to fix it?
I’m in agreement here. I’ll be keeping an eye on this in case someone finds a solution. They are tacky and really unneccessary.
They’re annoying as heck. I’m getting the blue boxes with arrows and green boxes with checkmark. Really hope they fix this soon. They just appeared today after a Norton update.
same i delete my backup for now and arrows are gone I hope. Norton should know better to keep doing dumb stuff like this. Might drop Norton if their won’t fix the problem asap!
the reasons for NOT RENEWING Norton just keep adding up. a lot of little things that add up to a large pain tin the yahoo (as John Candy says in his movie “The Great Outdoors”).
Norton is aware of this issue and will be issuing a fix in a future update to the 360 app. As always, there is no timeline that can be given for this fix.
Search, backup settings, settings, general, security symbols
Yeah, super annoying! Since classic view is gone, I had to disable Norton Drive integration completely that stopped the backup icons from showing. Try that in the Norton settings under Backup or Cloud features.
Search, backup settings, settings, general, security symbols
After (and I am not exaggerating) 40 years using Norton products, the changes to back up this spring are the first thing to make me start looking elsewhere. It used to be fast, easy to configure and flexible. To give credit, it’s been improved since the update rolled out, but is still not what it was. These icon overlays are not only annoying, but make it hard to distinguish file types when looking at a detail view of a directory. I hope it gets fixed before my renewal date.
4. What’s new in Norton 25.4.10068?
- Settings to remove backup overlay icons on shortcuts
Problem finally solved
Thanks to Norton’s developers for taking care of this. Much appreciated.
