Hello

After you disable the Idle Full Time Scan, then you should schedule when you want the scan to run. It is important that you do have a weekly antivirus scan run. Thanks.

Well it did work I guess but I think the one right now is still scanning since no difference in speed of download. How do I stop it. It should be like 900-1200 KB`s a second but it is only 400.

Hi tristen1230,

Welcome to the Norton Community.

Once again, can you please confirm which Norton product you have and the version? You can find the version from Support > About. Also what version of WIndows and SP (service pack) do you have and is it 32 or 64 bit?

Full system scans by Norton run during IDLE time so it should not be interfering with your download. Typically the only time that Norton might be aggressive enough to run a full system scan when your computer is in use is if you have recently installed it and a full scan has NOT yet been run - in that case Norton is quite aggressive at getting that first scan completed.

Please tell us more information about when you installed Norton along with which Norton product you have. Has a full system scan been completed since installation? Do you have any other security software installed besides Norton?

The more information you can give us the better we can assist you.

Best wishes.

Allen
