did you create these files?
what Norton engine is “deleting clean files”?

Norton did an automatic scan while I was transferring files. It deleted files that I created saying they were virus/malware/pup. When I tried to recover them the files were corrupted and I could not recover them. Lucky for me I have a backup. I would like for the scan to just quarantine suspected file instead of deleting the file. Can you assist?

Probably not. I’ve no experience with Norton deleting files that I’ve created.
Can you store your work product in a folder and exclude that folder with Antivirus & Scans?
Maybe, you created files need access to the live system.

What does Norton - Security History report regarding this/these events?

and you’ve reviewed (change from default Recommended) Norton → Settings to your preference?
