When downloading the product I just get a message saying it wont down load and I should go to the windows store but I can't see Norton there. I was advised by Norton that 30 Multi Device 2014 would work (despite my double checking with the guy) via live chat. What is the truth? And if it wont when will it.
Thanks.
Keith
Hi Thisisapain.
Welcome to the Norton Community Forums.
Norton 360 Multi Device will run on Android, iOs and Windows. That may be what the chat person was telling you. However the Windows scene is a bit more fragmented than it used to be and it looks to me as if N360 MD will not run on your Microsoft Surface 2 tablet.
If you look at the system requirements shown on this page about N360 MD it appears to show that the only version of Windows 8 it supports is Windows 8/8 Pro. But as far as I can see the Microsoft Surface 2 tablet runs Windows 8.1 RT.
In fact I don't think I am aware of any Norton anti malware product that currently supports Widows 8 RT. Sorry.
Should you feel that because of the above you do not wish to keep the product you have purchased, Norton runs a fairly generous refund package, details of which can be found here.
Sorry that the answer is probably not what you wanted. Do come back if you would like anything clarified or if you have any further questions.
Thanks, this pretty much as I thought but having doubly questioned the Norton guy and his insistance that it worked we orderd the software. The Guy said that although it did not say it supported RT it did in fact do so and that he had checked with some form of records he had.
He was helpfull so please thank Ahmed for his assistance?, but it might be an idea to make sure all Norton people understand the products they are dealing with. Ill go get our money back but please let me know if and when Norton do support RT.
Ta.
Well, it's actually a bit muddier than that--see this thread where someone is successfully running Norton 360 on a Surface Pro:
http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-360/Unresolvable-Your-PC-requires-disk-optimization-to-improve/td-p/1086341
Because Windows running on a tablet form factor is relatively new, it may be that some of the reps don't understand the distinction between Surface 2 (running Win8.1RT on a Tegra) and Surface 2 Pro (running full-up Win8.1 on a regular Intel i5). Or it may indeed be that somebody's got Norton running on Win8.1RT. I gotta tell you, the thread above is the first we've seen here of anybody running Norton 360 on a Surface at all, so this is officially the bleeding edge!
Have you tried downloading from http://www.norton.com/latest360 ?

UPDATE: we have verified with the Norton product team that Norton 360 will not run on Windows 8.1 RT (which is what's on the Surface 2), and that the confusion resulted from it running fine on the Surface 2 Pro, which actually runs the full Windows 8.1; an alert is being sent to the sales and customer service reps to make sure that they can address this crucial difference.
Sorry for this miscommunication.
