I think i have been hacked

When I now try to log onto "big fish games" my browser changes to :

bigfishcasino.onelink.me

I am then onan unsecured site and unable to log on.

I have used Power Eraser to no avail.

unlike your other copy and paste i doubt any of them got fixed by it, again you have failed to provide any proof how surprising

1 second google search will tell you your wrong

for the record fast start up is a windows feature that put the device in hibernate , has nothing to do with any virus, malware, hijacker etc... zero none, and has never fixed or stopped any

again prove me wrong

give the links i gave a try see if they help, i would also try the power eraser , in scan in about the middle of the list ( full scan, quick scan above it) is power eraser

You are welcome Linda.

The Support help is more difficult to navigate these days. Like other companies, Norton has decided to use a chat bot to try to let the users self help themselves. Usually it is useless.  If using the chat function, as soon as you can enter any information, enter "agent please". That will get you out of the chat bot and connected to a human.   www.norton.com/contactcs   From this link you also have the option to choose Phone support.  Wait times can vary depending on what time of day you are trying to contact Support. If you see a very long wait, try again at another time of day.

A huge thank you to Peterweb and 9wood. I appreciate you taking the time to read and answer my posts. I have tried a number of things to try and fix the issue, such as: clearing history and cache, restarting then via the restart button, run Malwarebytes, whilst the program removed 6 PUP's it has not resolved the issue, uninstalled the big fish games app and then reinstalled, I have reset the computer! I also used the removal tool from Malwarebytes, (as above) but my computer rejected it saying connection issues and would not go any further.

a little info re myself, all my working life I have dealt with people (especially young offenders) although I have used computers in my role, I need to be physically available, I need to have resilience, compassion, be positive and have up to 20 different caps on per day but not a deep understanding of computers.  I use "hidden objects" games, to help me with my relaxation times.

I have been with Norton since 2016, and trying to contact someone who I could speak with for support, has been dire. What happened to the help desk of old, when you could actually speak to a human who is able to support you with your dilemma!

I will look at more of your solutions and hopefully try to fix my issue, otherwise there is also Office works who may be able to help.

Thank you for listening to me

Regards

Linda.

If you want to take the time to go through all my posts, have at it. There are numerous posts of mine and other gurus that turning this feature off resolved an issue or completed a malware remediation.

As I already posted, the restart itself does not fix the issue or malware. But the system restart is required to complete the remediation.

sol you are copying and pasting things that will not or ever will the issue i.e. in  this about being hit with malware or anything else

can you provide proof of any virus, malware, hijacker, or breach that your copy and paste fixes?

It is not that the restart fixes the issue. It completes what Norton has already started.

One example of an issue, not related to Norton, but recently my daughter was having difficulty with her newish laptop where the screen would flicker  and go black after startup. If she could get the screen to show long enough, she restarted the computer and everything worked properly. You guessed it, or maybe you didn't. Fast Startup was enabled and the graphics drivers were not getting saved correctly with the shutdown. The Restart fixed that.

So it is still a valid diagnostic step. Users don't have to disable the feature. They should be aware of how it works and how it can be an issue with problems on their system.

can you name one issue, virus, malware that has been fixed by your copy and paste? didnt think so lol

one of his frequent copy and paste

And I will continue to use this Fast Startup information. After a scanner like Malwarebytes or Norton has run and found issues, a restart is often required to complete the remediation. With Fast Startup enabled, unless the restart command is used, the system does not get the full system restart required to complete the remediation.

not sure if that is same that youre dealing with

https://regrunreanimator.com/newvirus/howto/remove-onelink-me-virus.htm

has nothing to do with "fast start up" ( one of his frequent copy and paste)

Did you clear your browser cache and history?

Have you restarted your computer after running Malwarebytes? Be sure you are using the Restart command. Not Shutdown and startup again if you have Windows Fast Startup feature enabled. If you use Windows 8/8.1, 10 or 11, there can be an issue with the Windows Fast Startup feature.. See more information here.

onelink.me .... is a powerful linking program, how do i ger rid of it?

Norton (the program) is off no help to me, why am paying over $200 for software that does not work,

I have tried the malware program. it did remove 6 PUP's, but the problem still exists.

I see that it changes my internet connection.

Has anyone heard of   bigfish.onelink.me  ?

You can start by clearing your browser cache and history and test again.

If that does not work, it looks like you may have picked up a PUP, a Possibly Unwanted Program. While they are annoying, they do not cause damage to your system. Some people actually want the 'Features' offered by these programs. They are usually downloaded alongside a legitimate download when you do not uncheck the option for the additional download.

Norton products concentrate on malware that can damage your system, that is why some PUPs are not detected.

I would suggest a second opinion scan using the FREE version of Malwarebytes. You can find it here https://www.malwarebytes.com/premium/
