Hi - I'm hoping someone can help. I have been using Norton 360 for about 3 years without a problem. However, as of Wednesday this week (19th August) my incoming email on Outlook has not worked. I get an error message. I phoned my email provider, 1&1 - they did a telnet test on the CMD prompt - telnet pop.1and1.co.uk 110 and I got the error Connection Failed. They said my ISP was blocking this - I spoke to TalkTalk who said that they were definitely not blocking it and that it was likely to be Norton 360. I tried disabling the Firewall but that didn't make any difference. I've tried getting through to Norton on the phone this morning without success.
I can access my emails on my phone and via Webmail but I really need Outlook working as it's affecting all my email addresses under my master 1&1 account.
Any ideas would be much appreciated. Thank you.
Hi
The version is 2.5.0.5
In Outlook I am getting the error 0x80042108 Outlook cannot connect to your incoming (POP3) e-mail server. If you continue receiving this message, contact your service administrator or ISP.
I do not know how to turn off email scanning. If there is anything you can suggest to help me then I will be eternally grateful!
Thank you
Topiaryal
If you have an active subscription for your Norton 360 2.5, you can get the latest version- Norton 360 3.0 which is more efficient and powerfull. I would suggest you to upgrade to latest version and then check this problem. Go to your Norton Account using this LINK and get the Product Key. You may require this same Product Key for activating the Norton 360 3.0. You can use the Upgrade Center for installing Norton 360 3.0 upgrade. When you install Norton 360 3.0, the Norton installer will automatically detect and remove the previous versions if it is present. When you install the update, it will remove your previous Norton 360 2.0 and apply the subscription information to Norton 360 3.0. You can continue using the new version by just renewing the subscription when the current subscription expires. After installing the Norton 360 3.0, run a LiveUpdate and then a full system scan. Let us know the results.
